Learning English with us means more than just going to classes. We want to help you to benefit as much as possible from your time in England. We will help you to explore the sights, culture and history, to enjoy all the great leisure facilities that are available and to practise your English outside the classroom.
The Burlington School provides an extensive programme of leisure and cultural activities throughout the year, organised by our Leisure Programme Co-ordinator. There are also free trips which your teacher and our Leisure Programme Coordinator will help you to go on, and trips which cost a little bit of money, but they are all designed to help you enjoy your time here and to practise your English in fun and interesting ways.
Leicester Square and Piccadilly Square are the centre of London night life with clubs, dancing and bars. Normal precautions are advisable. The West End is home to London's theatres and plays.
The School organizes a range of afternoon and evening activities accompanied by staff members. Activities include: pub nights, video evenings and parties, which encourage students to socialise in English. Various other events provide unique opportunities for students to learn about other cultures, while trips to London’s West End shows keep students in touch with the British way of life. We also organise sports activities. Our leisure programme changes monthly to cater for students' interests and requirements.
Further away, students visit locations such as Oxford, Cambridge, Stonehenge and Brighton. Weekend trips abroad may also be arranged from time to time to places such as Amsterdam and Paris.
